If you’re in the situation to need this, it’s a good alternative to some of the junk out there. My math tells me this is really just a fixed focal length lens (maybe 30-40mm) that travels along the tube, so a fairly simple piece of hardware.In practice if you want more magnification you move your target closer and then adjust focus, and if you want less then you move further away and adjust focus. On a type C industrial camera I was able to get magnifications between 0.12 and 1.8 and with extension tubes you can extend the upper end of that somewhat. With a 7mm sensor (or smaller) this lens is great for fine electronics work.
