This is just a really solid basic kit for weekend camping or to keep in your car as a prep kit. It works well with a backpacker’s or portable stove that’s fueled by canisters. For camping, I wouldn’t put this on a wood or charcoal fire because of the plastic/silicone material on the handles. This is really just meant to have heat directly /underneath/ it like a stove. A great set to use for a few days drive out to a state park, or keep on hand if the power goes out.Since opening, I haven’t been able to get the set packed out the same way I got it; I swore everything closed, but I just can’t fit it all back the same way. It isn’t /really/ a problem because the mesh bag it comes with WILL do its job of keeping the set contained, but the rattling is kinda annoying. I have to pack it with a microfiber cloth and then it’s fine.I’m honestly not super confident on the durability of the folding handles, They’re convenient, but I feel like it wouldn’t hold up well for daily use for more than a few months. I think this is really meant to be a light to medium duty, like a few weekends a month – and it’ll probably last you a year or two.So overall, ideal for the hobby or weekend camper to make hot water in a pot for ramen, tea, oatmeal or curry packs, anything you’d put on a stove really. The little plates and utensils are easy to clean. I like it a lot.
