AlpineAire Foods Shakshuka, Freeze-Dried/Dehydrated, Entrée Meal Pouch, Just add Water, Black

Ingredients in order … rice, CHEESE, tomato, CHEESE, eggs, veg, CHEESE, veg, CREAM … spices & seasonings.. Shakshuka it ain’t. But it’s fairly tasty & great spice level if you eat a little bit high on the Scoville scale. It has the slightest of kicks. I fed some to our dog & she was fine with it. I did NOT need any water for the spice but I did need water for all the cheese … & salt. It’s about 1/3 of a 2100 calorie day … but it’s 77% of sodium.This also has more additives than I’ve normally noticed in AlpineAire meals – it was the last AA meal we decided to try of 5. We’ll buy their granola again & the al pastor. Granola is solid & filling – we’ve tried Peak Refuel (generally our fave brand) & Mountain Home (2nd or 3rd fave brand) granolas/oats. But for oats/granola we like AA best. But shakshuka … the meal of this review … we probably won’t buy it again … the high use of additives & OTT cheesiness knocked it out of our faves. Nothing super terrible … just … more additives than many, many delicious freeze dried meals across many brands including AA.
