click picture to enlarge Stamped: ERICH STEINER After World War II Bubenreuth, Germany became the hub of many violin makers and bow makers. The mayor of the town actually traveled to many places east of Bubenreuth and into Czechoslovakia distributing flyers while visiting refugee camps asking specifically for luthiers to come and relocate to his town. It happened and many came right after the war and never left. This is a Brazilwood bow in very good condition. The bow is octagonal in section with a bone tip. The frog is ebony, mounted in nickel, and fully lined with a pearl slide and mother-of-pearl single eyes. The button is three piece silver, ebony, and silver. The nickel winding is finished in a leather thumb and leather lapping on the other end. This will make a very good stick for the cellist looking graduate from a carbon fiber bow and get a different sound and response from their cello. Weight fully haired 76.0 grams
